Expert Mullingar
2 Day
10/11th July

Prize Fund of €3750

For the last few years the Mullingar Grand Prix has proved to be a very popular event on the racing calendar, held traditionally on the first day of the Rás. The Lakeside Wheelers Mullingar have now decided to upgraded the race to a two day event. Two separate races will be held over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 11th and 12th July. The main race will be open to Category 2 and 3 rider’s but a separate race will be held for Category 4. We expected this will prove to be a very popular race for the new grade.

Stage 1 - Will be on the circuit (13km) used for the Mullingar Grand Prix for the past years. This is a good safe route of moderate difficulty .

  • Category 2/3 race will have 6 laps for a total of approximately 50miles.
  • Category 4 race will have 4 laps for a total of approximately 33miles

Stage 2 - 6km Time Trial on the N4 from The Covert to the Castlepollard Junction.

  • Both Category 2/3 and Category 4 races will have the same 6km TT.

Stage 3 - On a 19km circuit. This is a testing route and will prove that the midland’s is not all flat.

  • Category 2/3 race will do 5 laps – total approx. 56miles
  • Category 4 race will do 3 laps – total approx. 34 miles

Generous Prize fund for both races which will include a team prize, unplaced Vets, Ladies and Junior’s.

Sign On:  from 11am, will be in Mullingar Rugby Club on the Castlepollard Road just off the N4 Mullingar bypass at junction 11.
