Olympics hopefuls lifted by grant news - By Shane Stokes in the Irish Times - Jan 21: The furrowing of brows and gnawing of fingernails by those within the Irish Cycling Federation has abated with Wednesday's announcement of the Sports Council's grants for this year. Officials and elite competitors alike were dismayed last season when it emerged that funding was to be substantially reduced; however, the sum of £143,243 allocated this week brings the budget closer to pre-1999 levels, and is a source of encouragement for those preparing for Sydney.  More >>

Ciaran Power Signs up with Linda McCarthy Team - Great news for the 23 year old Irish International rider who finished 3rd in the 'B' world championships last November. He is now on a training camp with the new team, and will be traveling to the Tour of Langkawi More >> 

A new millennium, and Irish Cycling starts it on a good footing qualifying 4 riders for the Sydney Olympics - Robin Seymour qualified 1 place in the MTB race, Ciaran Power, Eugene Moriarty and Deirdre Murphy qualified us for 3 places in the road races, 2 men and 1 lady.
