FBD Thank Ras Officials for 27 Great Years

To: All race officials:

Thank you for 27 great years

Friends,

Adrian Taheny
I felt it important that I take the time to write to all of you and express my sincere thanks for all you have done for the Ras over so many years and for FBD over the last 27.

It has been more than just a sponsorship; it has been a partnership where both sides benefit on a consistent basis.

The Ras is one big family and it has been a pleasure to have been a member of that family for 27 years (and in my own case for the last 13 years).

FBD has grown as the Ras has and both are now national institutions in their own right.

Our commitment to the Ras has always been absolute and that would have continued had I not had an approach from An Post. Following discussions it became clear that there now existed an opportunity to make way for the new sponsor in the knowledge that the Ras would be in safe hands and continue to receive the support it so richly deserves for many years to come.

I facilitated discussions on the basis that if they were successful we would step aside and if not we would continue our association with the Ras. They talks were successful and a new sponsor is now in place. I am confident that through their support the Ras will continue to thrive and grow in stature over the coming years.

Sally and Dermot - The beating heart of the Rs team

I have made many friends over the last 13 years on the Ras and I find it difficult to express my admiration for the commitment you show to the Ras and to Dermot every year. I understand it; I understand why you do it and I am honoured to have been a part of it for the last 13 years.

I wish the Ras, Dermot and all of you continued success and enjoyment in the future and I look forward to seeing you 'up the road' from time to time.

Go raibh mle maith agaibh go lir.

Adrian Taheny & all at FBD
