This Sunday (June 29th) Cuchulainn Cycling are promoting the Tour of Louth Cycle sportive. This event is primarily a leisure event but with a slight twist for those who wish to challenge themselves. All finishers will be awarded a finishers medal but only those completing the course in the targeted times will be awarded Gold or Silver.
The event will be run around a 100km figure of eight circuit taking the riders from Dundalk through Castlebellingham, Ardee, Omeath and Carlingford. Whilst the route is mainly flat it does include a trip across the Cooley Mountains via Jenkinstown hill.
Sign on is from Dowdallshill GFC (Open from 8.30am) and will be sign posted from the M1 motorway (Castleblayney exit). The event departs at 10am. The entry fee is €10 with all proceeds going to charity.
Participants are reminded that the event is a test of endurance not a race. Refreshments will be provided before and during event. All Participants must have a Cycling Ireland Licence (Non Members can avail of a one day licence for €10)

LITTLE HILLS OF MONAGHAN TOUR
Emyvale CC are promoting the Little Hills Of Monaghan Tour. This tour is taking place on Sunday the 29th June and will be run in it’s entirely in Co Monaghan, sign on is at 9am at the Community Centre Emyvale, departing 10am Fee €10.Distance 70 Miles. The Club has but a lot of thought in to the rout Planning of this TOUR to facilitate all Cyclists, the Rout is planned in such a way that if any of the participants (Cyclists) want to cut the route short at any time they will only be about 10-15 mile at any given time from Emyvale. The organizers of the Event at the club are stressing the Point that this is a TOUR of the County and not a RACE of the County. The Tour The Club are inviting all cyclists young and old any Shape or Size to come along and join the club in promoting this TOUR. There is changing facility’s and Showers in the Community Centre Tea and Sandwiches will be provided afterwards in the Clubrooms.
Route Details.
Emyvale, Glaslough, Silverstream, Castleshane, Clontibret, Castleblaney, Doohamlat, Ballybay, Swans-Cross, Newbliss, Three-Mile House, Gortakeegan Monaghan United Club Rooms, Rest Point and Tea Stop. The Cyclist will Re-Group at this point and the Lead Car Driver will take the Cyclists across the Busy N54 Clones Monaghan Road. The Cyclists will then head in the direction of Ballinode, Scotstown, Knockatallon, and Bartatappy Cross Turning Right at the Rock Bridge (Caution) Direction of Fay’s Cross-, Turning Left again for Toneyclea, Golden, Direction Bragan Cross and Back to Emyvale
