The roads of Inishowen seen some colour on Sunday past with over 70 cyclists turning out for the Four Masters Cycling Club, Tour of Inishowen. With the scorching sun and the Atlantic sea breeze the cyclist could not of asked for a better take to tour around the breath taking Inishowen head.

Starting at the North Pole Bar in Dumfries the competitors cycled over the mountain into Carndonagh, and turned left into Malin town. In Malin they turned left once again and headed out the coast road where the legs started to burn with the hills. Once at the top there was a full few of the Five finger strand, and the blue/green Atlantic Ocean, what a few, but no time for stopping.

With the head winds the cyclist pushed on at the most Northern Point of Ireland, Banda’s Crown.. With Garcans Isles to the left the descent was made for the feed station, were all had a welcome break.

After about a 5-minute stop it was all steam ahead with the last major climb of the day over Glengad. With the steep decent of Glengad it was a free ride into Culdaff, followed by Carndonagh, Ballyliffen, clonmany, and the Final stop at the North Pole Bar.

The Four Masters Cycling Club wish to thank all those who took part in the event, The North Pole Bar, Drumfries for the use of their premises, and the amazing tea on the return, and all those who helped make this event happen.
