Sean Nolan Meath GP
06 Jun 2008
It has come to the attention of the board that the Sean Nolan Meath GP is been advertised as taking place on Sunday 15th June. The scheduled date per the printed calendar is Sunday 22nd June.
The board have not approved the change of date from the 22nd June to 15th June. Consequently no ranking points will be available from the Sean Nolan Meath GP and insurance cover is jeopardised by the non-approval by C.I. of the change of date.
Race Organisers are reminded that changes to race dates published in the printed calendar must be approved as per section G8 of the Technical Rules.

Dear Editor,
I am writing in relation to the above notice in the Cyclingireland website, which I read in total disbelief. The situation here appears to be very simple - the Navan Road Club have decided wisely to move the race to a date with no local competing events, thus offering Leinster cyclists an event to participate in this weekend.
Cycling Ireland simply needs to put their members interest as a higher priority and to grant a small degree of flexibility to the supporting club, rather than publically quote technical regulations.
A simple phone to clarify the dates is all that is needed. Supporting club’s such as the Navan Road Club should be assisted in every way possible, putting such technical roadblocks in their way is only going to make them and other race organisers question why they invest so much time and effort to run these events.
