Cycling Ireland's popular Bike Like Me training programme has been expanded after a successful 2020 edition which saw over 800 women participate. Bike Like Me is Cycling Ireland’s overarching campaign to inspire more women and girls to discover cycling and feel confident on their bikes. The campaign aligns with Sport Ireland’s Policy on Women in Sport which intends to address four target areas - Active Participation, Coaching and Officiating, Visibility and Leadership, and Governance. Through the Bike Like Me campaign, Cycling Ireland will support women and girls in becoming active and valued members of the cycling community, promoting programmes and best practices among cycling clubs nationwide.

Cycling Ireland is excited to offer four programmes for women and girls, catering to beginner and intermediate riders. The programmes have been designed by Cycling Ireland Coach, Jamie Blanchfield of Premier Endurance and will run for 8-weeks.

The Zoom based training sessions will be led by an inspirational leader to keep participants motivated and entertained along the way. Eve McCrystal, a tandem pilot, and multiple Para-cycling World Champion will lead the intermediate women’s group. Bike Like Me advocate, Laura Daly will take the beginner group while Irish International, Imogen Cotter will inspire the next generation as she leads the programme for girls aged 12 to 17 years.

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the online Zoom sessions. All live Zoom sessions will be recorded, so there's no need to worry if you miss one, a link will be sent out the following day so you can catch up.
