COVID-19 UPDATED GUIDANCE – 31/03/2021
Statement on Public Health Measures

The Government of Ireland has announced that new public health measures are coming into effect in April. Cycling Ireland will continue to liaise with Sport Ireland and provide future information as it becomes available.

Training

People may meet with people from one other household in outdoor settings when taking exercise. Group training is not permitted at this time.

From 12 April, you can travel within your own county or within 20km of your home if crossing county boundaries.

From 26 April, underage non-contact outdoor training in pods of 15 can recommence, subject to public health advice at the time. Please contact a member of staff if Cycling Ireland can assist your club with putting the necessary structures in place to offer youth training.

Senior/Adult group training and/or club spins is not permitted under government guidelines until further notice.

Events

No cycling events are to take place under government guidelines until further notice.

Professional, elite sports, horse racing, greyhound racing and approved equestrian events only are permitted to continue behind closed doors.

To be prepared for a prompt return, Cycling Ireland is encouraging event organisers, including club event organisers, to enter details onto the CI event permit system. All information, including dates, can be easily amended.

Facilities

From 26 April, subject to public health advice at the time, outdoor sports facilities can reopen (for example: Tracks & BMX Facilities).

Activities should take place between a maximum of two households. Facilities including club houses and any indoor facilities (for example: changing rooms, showers, kitchens, meeting rooms), apart from essential toilet facilities must remain closed. There should not be any return to team sports or training activities.

The Cycling Ireland Booking System must be used for contact tracing purposes.
