Wicklow 200, Ireland’s premier cycling sportif will return for its 39th year on 7th June 2020 with registration for the event opening on 6th December. The cycle and its partner event the Wicklow 100 Challenge start in Bray, Co. Wicklow taking in many of the most iconic climbs in Ireland’s ‘Garden County’ in an event that is among the most arduous and most revered annual cycling events on the world calendar.

Organisers of the event The Irish Veteran Cyclists Association who have run this event at a local level for many years are now partnering with Elite Event Management to grow the event and bring more people to the region for this iconic cycle.

Michael Davis, Chairman of the IVCA said ‘’We are thrilled to bring back the Wicklow 200 cycle for its 39th year. The event is a highlight in the cycling calendar and always proves to be an exciting and exhilarating day for our participants and the organisers alike.

Oliver Kirwan, Event Director with Elite Event Management added, “We are delighted to team up with the IVCA and we are really looking forward to working with them on the Wicklow 200. The cycle is on one of the most stunning routes I’ve ever encountered and has a great reputation amongst cycling enthusiasts both nationally and internationally.”

Starting and finishing at Bray Emmets GAA Club the route takes the riders on some of the most famous climbs in the country such as Wicklow Gap, Glenmalure, Slieve Maan and Shay Elliott and through the stunning and picturesque villages of Rathdrum, Baltinglass, Enniskerry, Laragh amongst others.

Bray will be the scene of much celebration post-event. All participants will receive a customised medal, food, access to the Japanese hot tubs and there will be plenty of entertainment on hand to keep the after-party going all day and night.

Registration will open on Friday 6th December with a launch special price of €65 for both the Wicklow 200 and 100 routes, valid for a limited time only. Visit www.wicklow200.ie for further information and route details and check out the Facebook event page to keep up to date with the latest news.
