In 1988 Joe McCormack and his Eagle club officials ran the Jack Woodcock Memorial on the Khyber Pass circuit in the Phoenix Park, It was the usually the first race of the year and in 1988, it was an Olympic year, so, the top cyclists were eager to start the season with a major win.
