Cycling Ireland is proud to name a team of five riders to represent Ireland in this year’s Rás Tailteann, taking place from May 20th-24th.

Decathlon CM CGM Devo Team rider Conor Murphy will line out in green again for the first time since taking a medal at last year’s European Road Championships. The first-year U23 rider took bronze in the TT event in France last Autumn, along with the Junior Cyclo cross, TT and Road Race National Championship titles in 2025.

Orwell Wheelers’ Liam Crowley makes another appearance in green, having ridden the Rás in 2024 with the national team. Crowley has had a strong start to the year taking stage wins at Rás Mumhan and Rás Mhaigh Eo, along with taking second at the Des Hanlon Memorial and the Donal Crowley Memorial in March.

Jack Conroy makes his national team debut at the Rás, with the Velo Performance rider showing huge promise in the first part of the season. The 21-year-old claimed top spot at both the Bobby Power and Alan Towell Memorial races, alongside a podium at the Des Hanlon. Alongside his strong domestic performances, Conroy has spent time racing abroad already this year with appearances in Greece and Italy.

In a progressive move to develop strong second year Junior riders, Rás organisers have given special dispensation to the national team to include two juniors in this year’s team. The two junior riders selected are Hugh Óg Mulhearne and Fionn Killeen.

A member of the Performance Pathway Programme, Hugh Óg Mulhearne has had a stellar start to the season, taking fifth on GC at Rás Mumhan and second at the National Single Grade Bobby Power Memorial. Mulhearne also spent several weeks in the top-three of the French Junior rankings after early successes with his team, AS Villemur Cyclisme.

Fionn Killeen rounds out the national team selection for the Rás. The Kilcullen rider was recently named to make his debut in green at this week’s Course de la Paix in Czechia off the back of positive results to start the season with the 17-year-old taking tenth place on GC at both Rás Mumhan and Rás Mhaigh Eo.

Coach Martyn Irvine welcomed the addition of the two junior riders to the Rás team; “I am to be delighted to provide our best young riders with an experience of riding the Rás. In recent years development has been our primary objective and the Rás organisers have consistently been supportive in this endeavour. The team this year has intentionally combined to provide our younger riders the best opportunity to learn from those more experienced riders around them while also battling for results and showing the jersey and the race the respect they deserve.”
