Rás na mBan Entries Open for 2025

Teams can now enter via the Cycling Ireland

Entries for Rás na mBan 2025 have now opened with teams and administrative staff ramping up plans for the 19th edition of Ireland’s international stage race. For a ninth year, Rás na mBan will be based in the beautiful medieval city of Kilkenny in Ireland’s Ancient East where it will run for five days beginning on Wednesday September 3rd.

Race organisers have already received interest from a number of teams from both home and abroad, with several already confirming their intention to make the trip to Kilkenny in September.

“It’s great to have so many teams, many new and a great number who have been to the race in the past, show interest in taking on the event,” says Deputy Race Director Ronan Fox.

“We have an exciting new stage for the riders to tackle and it’s been great to discuss race plans with teams and riders from all over the world in the past few months.

“The entry system is pretty straightforward and we’re looking forward to having another high quality bunch assembling in Kilkenny on September 6th.”

Entry System Information

The entry system is very similar to the one used in previous years. Rás na mBan continues to use the Cycling Ireland entry portal at Eventmaster.

As in years past, teams can be registered and rider names added at a later date. Managers can access the link below to register their team.

Team managers can add their specific team name to the system after which they, or team riders, can add up to five riders to the roster.

Team officials are asked to ensure that they use the same team name for each rider added to the squad and avoid team duplication.

Closing date for team entry is 13th August while rider names can be changed after entry and before the final rider confirmation date on September 2nd.

All visiting riders, except those riding with their UCI registered team, must be registered on the Cycling Ireland system, prior to event registration.

Visiting riders are required to register with Cycling Ireland to be eligible to race in Ireland. The link to the Cycling Ireland portal is on the Rás na mBan entry page. Riders need to enter the details requested by Cycling Ireland. They also need to include the following:

- Copy of active licence
- Letter of Permission to race in Ireland from their home federation

Once their application has been approved by Cycling Ireland, the rider will be issued a unique number. This number is to be used in place of their Licence number when completing the race entry form and should allow the form to be partially pre-filled automatically.

Pre-registration with Cycling Ireland is not required for riders who are coming as part of their UCI registered team (ProTeam or Conti) or who have already registered with Cycling Ireland in 2025.

Select the number of riders being entered. You can enter from 1 to 5 riders at any one time, until the team has been filled. You must complete payment for the number of riders entered during that transaction.

For example, if you want to enter 3 riders initially you can register and pay for those three riders. You, or the remaining two riders, can then enter either separately or 2 riders together at a future date and pay the appropriate fee at that point.

You can also add your Team Manager’s details on initial entry or at a later date. There is no fee for registering the Team Manager.

The event is not open to individuals. It is for teams of five riders representing teams or clubs registered with national associations affiliated to the UCI, national teams, regional squads and composite teams.
