For the first time in its history, Ras na mBan will this year be awarding time bonuses on all stages except for Stage 5, the Individual Time Trial.
Recent editions of the race have been notable for incredibly tight contests with riders sometimes separated only by fractions of a second from the short individual time trial at the end of five hard days if racing. In 2022, the General Classification was won by Kate Richardson by less than a second while a tight three seconds was all that separated 2023 race winner Manon de Boer from Dutch compatriot Renée Van Hout.
For the 2024 race edition, time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds will be awarded to the first three riders respectively at the stage finish, with intermediate sprint bonuses also on offer throughout the race.
Intermediate Sprint bonuses of 3, 2 and 1 seconds will be awarded to the first three riders at the following points:
Stage 1: first passage of the finish line in Callan
Stage 2: first passage of the finish line in Mountrath
Stage 3: Kiltealy NS, Kiltealy
Stage 4: Ballyvally, Co Kilkenny
Stage 6: at finish line, after c.30 minutes of racing
