Cycling Ireland is proud to present the High Performance Para Pathway Strategy Performance Plan 2025-2028.

This document comes off the back of the High Performance Strategy released in April, and sits parallel to the High Performance Pathway Strategy, also released in April.

This para cycling specific strategy comes together following an extensive consultation process with key internal and external stakeholders. It aims to carry the success found on Paralympic and World Championship level in 2024 through to the next Paralympic cycle, and build a successful and sustainable pathway for para athletes.

High Performance Para Cycling Development Coach Marcin Mizgajski has worked tirelessly to develop this strategy, and said: “What began as a project became a mission to ensure no talented para cyclist is left behind.

Over the past year, I’ve learned that real progress in paracycling comes from listening deeply, reducing barriers, and fostering belief in every athlete’s potential.

This pathway represents more than just a structure; it’s a commitment to equity, excellence, and a culture where every athlete feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.

By building an inclusive and high-performance environment, we’re turning ambition into achievement and laying the foundations for sustained international success."

High Performance Director Iain Dyer added: “This is first time CI has had a HP Para Cycling specific pathway document. It was important a year after Marcin’s appointment as Para Pathway Coach, to offer our strategic direction and prioritised actions to the para sporting community and our stakeholder partners. We’re proud to share this with everyone, and look forward to making a difference in the important link between domestic level participation and reaching the level of the most successful elite para sport programme in Ireland.”
