Three riders to represent Ireland at UEC XC European Championships this week
Ireland will be represented this week at the UEC Cross Country Mountain Bike European Championships by three riders.

Chris Dawson, who retained his Senior National Championship yesterday in Co. Cork, will once again ride for Ireland at a major championship event. The Antrim native is no stranger to this weekend's course in Melgaço, Portugal, having raced there already this year, taking second place at the Melgaço International C1 UCI race in March.
Greta Lawless, who also retained her Junior National Championship yesterday, will make the trip. Lawless has represented Ireland in both cross-country and cyclo-cross in recent years, and the Dawson racing rider will no doubt relish an opportunity to wear green again in Portugal.
Ryan Daly rounds out the Irish contingent for this European Championships. The Junior has muscled his way onto the international scene in 2025, and has battled hard at three UCI Junior World Series rounds, culminating in a top-10 at the most recent event in Davos, Switzerland. Having represented Ireland in both XC and cyclo-cross in recent months, this weekend will mark Daly’s first event as a National Champion, having also taken the title yesterday in Cork.
The three riders will be joined by former Masters European Champion and multi time National Champion Robin Seymour as coach, and Kevin Moran as team manager.
Racing gets underway on Wednesday, July 23rd. The full schedule is available here.
