Todays second stage departed Asdee for the village of Knockanure, the bunch travelling at 50 -60kph, along the coastal road through Ballylongofrd, Tarbert and on to Glin, before the start of the first major climb of the day.

Riders were discarded from the main peloton from the outset, with the main peloton staying relatively intact.

Some notable riders in the breakaway, Josh Calally of Velo Performance Racing team, Liam Crowley of Pinergy Orwell Wheelers and Hugh Og Mulhern of Dornan Cycling Munster trying to make their mark on the days proceedings.

With a 43 second lead on the chasing peloton, and 300 metres to go, Josh Calally went long to take an impressive stage victory in an uphill finish in stage 1(b) of the Dornan Ras Mumhan.
