Tom Martin Delivers Stunning Comeback to Win Rás Mumhan 2025 on Final Stage in Killorglin.

Killorglin, Co. Kerry In a jaw-dropping display of grit and determination, Tom Martin of Spellman Dublin Port Cycling Team turned the tides of Rás Mumhan 2025 on its final day, overhauling a significant time deficit to seize overall victory in front of roaring crowds in Killorglin.

Going into Stage 4, Martin faced a daunting 25-second gap to race leader Jamie Whitcher (Composite Black). With the pressure on and the clock ticking, Martin launched a relentless assault on the roads of Kerry during the 113 km Easter Monday showdown — a stage often described as a fan favorite for its drama, atmosphere, and iconic town-centre finish.

After a neutral roll-out from KCYMS Community Hall, riders tore through the three laps of Beaufort before facing the leg-sapping 8 ascents of the Donal McKenna circuit. With each climb up into Killorglin, Martin chipped away at the time gap, ultimately delivering a performance for the ages.

By the final lap, the Spellman Dublin Port rider had not only closed the 25-second deficit he had pulled 8 seconds ahead of Whitcher, claiming the General Classification in a total time of 9h 23'42''. Whitcher, despite a valiant defence, was forced to settle for second place, while Willem O’Connor (Velo Performance) secured a strong third overall.

Stage 4 once again cemented its reputation as a stage where anything can happen — and in 2025, it was the stage where a champion was made. Tom Martin’s comeback will go down in Rás Mumhan history as one of the most dramatic turnarounds ever witnessed on Easter Monday.
