REILLY WINS IN GALWAY

Chris Reilly of Bohermeen CC landed the spoils today in the Black Rose Grand Prix held in Menlough, East Galway. If the organiser Aidan Reade had any doubts about the turnout for the second running of the 'GP'. They were well and truly put on the back burner when a record number in excess of 100 turned up. Unfortunately the defending Neil Delahaye of the Usher Irish Road Club was a non starter.
The event was run on a handicap basis. All despite the A4's had been reeled in by end of the first, but it took some spirited cycling to overhaul the A4s' who held their advantage for a further two laps.

In the last four kilometers Chris Reilly of Bohermeen CC edged clear of his breakaway companions to win by twenty three seconds outside the Black Rose Recording Studios ahead of John Kenny of the Navan Avonmore CC with Eoghan Considine of the promoting club in third place. 'Chris' according to the sponsor and organiser will have to take guitar lessons as he accepted his prize of a 'guitar.'
