Ronan McLaughlin from Muff in Co. Donegal will end his season tomorrow in the Sluitingsprijs Putte-Kapellen (1.1) in Belgium for the An Post Sean Kelly team, No doubt about it, this was by a long way his best season in the familiar colours of An Post. will line out for the An Post Sean Kelly team for the final time this season when he competes in a seven man team at the Sluitingsprijs Putte-Kapellen (1.1) in Belgium.

No doubt Ronan has been on a roll in the latter half of the season. He lines out alongside his Belgian team mates Niko Eeckhout, Pieter Ghyllebert, Joren Segers, Niels Wytinck, Kenneth Van Bilsen and Roy Jans.

McLaughlin proved a constant thorn in the sides of the so called ‘big’ teams at the recent Tour of Britain, earning numerous plaudits for his aggressive attacking style. His form was rewarded by a call up to Team Ireland at the UCI Road World Championships in Limburg, Netherlands where he proved that he was well up for the test.

Team manager Kurt Bogaerts is hoping McLaughlin and the team can end another excellent season on a high.

“This season has been great for the development of many of our riders. I’ve been particularly pleased with how Ronan and the other Irish riders have progressed. Tomorrow’s race is an opportunity to finish the season with a good result against a strong field.”

Following tomorrow’s race the team will take a break until December when they return for a pre season training camp in Calpe, Spain. For now the transfer window comes into operation. What of McLouglins' future? It looks as though he has cemented his name in the managements plans for next season!
