Thankfully the weather remained dry for the Enfield Grand Prix promoted by Clonard RC on a fast and exciting 6.4kmx circuit last evening. The A4's were let away first, with a 2.5 minute handicap over the A3's, who in turn had 2.5 minutes over the A2's and A1's.

Clonard Road Club's Ger Dunne was in attacking form, and gave the local crowd something to cheer on as he broke away and was in front led for the first half of the race.

With two laps to go, all of the groups came together, and with aggressive attacking on the hill up to the main road with a lap to go by local rider Aaron Buggle trying to break away the pace really kicked up a notch.

The last lap was the fastest of the evening, which ended up with a bunch sprint for the spoils. John Priest of the Stagg Cycles Lucan CC was at his best and got the verdict over his team colleague.

The judges found that the third placing was a hard call and in the end called a dead heat between Alan Burke of Murphy Surveyors CC Apex Builders and Patrick O'Brien of the Dundrum Town Centre Orwell Wheelers CC.
