CHANGES AT THE TOP IN JUNIOR TOUR AFTER STAGE TWO

Jacob Ragan from Manchester and representing Maxgear Champion Systems took over as race leader after an absorbing second stage of the Junior Tour of Ireland today.
Ragan, Marcus Smith of Specialized Racing in the USA and Colin Joyce of Tubes USA made good there escape with approximately 25 kilometers to go. Despite the best efforts of the chasing pack they held out for a sprint finish in Westport with Joyce getting the verdict after 110kms.
Overnight race leader Ryan Mullen of Stena Line Ireland had the misfortune to crash with 36kms left to the finish. He made contact with the bunch after a hectic chase, but was adjudged to have been in breach of regulations and was subsequently penalised, pushing him down the leaderboard to 44th place in the standings. Tomorrow the riders off from Castlebar to Ballycastle.
And to add spice to the win, Colin Joyce, Pocatello, Idaho who races for Hot Tubes. His Great Grandfather, William Joyce was raised in Belmullet, and his Grand Grandmother, Beatrice (Bridget, named changed at Ellis Island) Joyce was born and raised in Swinford.
