2022 Rás Tailteann Spain, Scotland and Trinity Racing Confirmed

SPAIN – Brocar Ale
This year An Rás welcomes a team from Spain. The Spain – Brocar Ale team

Ger Campbell 2022 race director noted “We are excited to extend a hearty céad mille fáilte to this team representing Spain. We are expecting exciting things from this team and look forward to watching how the race unfolds for them in their first participation in An Rás Tailteann”

The team line-up includes:
• Alvaro Sagrado Perez
• Sergio Jimenez Duran
• Nathan Kurensky
• Louis David Sutton
• Tom Finlay Martin


SCOTLAND - Spokes Racing Team


This team based in the area around Dundee, is focussed on the development of up-and-coming Scottish riders from the junior through the u 23 ranks. The team has track record of successfully guiding around 15 riders onto big European teams. Including Oscar Onley at DSM and Mark Stewart, the current Commonwealth Points Race champion and former An Post pro rider.

Team principal Craig Grieve commented “our current team is gaining in strength and confidence with Lee Rosie in particular having some good results in UCI and British premier events of late. We are eager to travel to Ireland to participate in this legendary event where we expect some fine performances from our team, especially considering the performances we had at Rás Mumhan over Easter”

Also included in the Scottish line up is Daniel Kain is a Scottish TT Champion along with Craig Paterson and Jacob Smith who have been very consistent in their results of late. They will be joined by team mate Cameron Brown who has been based in Belgium most of this season.

Gerard Campbell race director noted “the Rás just wouldn't be the same without a Scottish team. Who knows, maybe they will be able to emulate the efforts of the great Glaswegian and uncle of Irish International rider Imogen Cotter from Co. Clare, Jamie McGahan. The man who left a lasting impression with his superb performance to win the 1981 edition of an Rás”

ENGLAND – Trinity Racing


Trinity Racing is welcomed to Rás this year. This team has become infamous of late due to its skilled development of riders from home and abroad including the likes of Tom Pidcock and of course our own former Irish Champion, Ben Healy. Healy is now of course competing at the very highest level in Cycling's World Tour with the EF Education-Nippo team.

Trinity Racing has of course has very strong Irish connection in the form of owner Andrew McQuaid. Himself a Man of Rás who hails from one of Irelands storied cycling families including his uncle Paul who won the Rás in 1995. The team coming for the 2022 edition will have 2 Irish riders amongst is ranks, Kevin McCambridge and Matthew Devins who are some of Irish cycling's most exciting prospects.

Commenting on his teams’ first attendance at the Rás, Andrew observed “It is great to see this historic event returning this year and we are very excited to have a team travel home to Ireland in the Trinity Racing colours to participate”

The 67th edition of the race will again travel clockwise around Ireland with stage finishes in Horse and Jockey, Castleisland, Lisdoonvarna, Kilbeggan, before starting the final stage in Kinnegad to the finishing circuit in seaside town of Blackrock, Co. Louth. Riders will cover 756km with 8 categorised climbs which will act as a platform for attacking riders to battle it out for the coveted Rás yellow jersey.
