IRELAND

An Rás wouldn’t be an Rás without the participation of our own Irish team.

Showcasing some of the best up and coming Irish talent and future prospects, the Irish team is always one to put in a big performance in its home event. No less should be expected in 2022 as they aim to fill the shoes and follow in the footsteps of the big names that went before them.

Race Director Ger Campbell when asked about the teams' participation said "the Rás certainly wouldn’t be the Ras without the Irish team and that is no less the case in 2022. The Irish team always acquits itself well and we don’t expect anything less this year” he added “we think that this team has the prerequisites for both stage and overall honours, we just have to wait and see how they assess their fellow competitors and adapt their game plan according to how the race unfolds"

The team line-up includes:
• Rory Townsend
• Dean Harvey
• Archie Ryan
• Adam Ward
• Paul Antoine Hagan



ENGLAND – Cycling Sheffield

CYCLING SHEFFIELD is arguably one of the most successful cycling teams in the U.K. Its mission to help their riders develop and further their careers by providing a professional and nurturing team environment as evidenced by previous results in the British Cycling National Series, ahead of several high-profile teams including Team Wiggins at its height. Connor Swift, one of their most successful riders became British Road Champion and progressed to Pro Continental level with Team Arkéa Samsic.

The team race at regional, national and international level, travelling to races across the UK and Europe and are very much looking forward to coming to an Rás.

Cycling Sheffield indicated that “in 2022 as part of the plan to expand the race program to include more racing in Europe enabling our riders to gain valuable experience and improve their form for target races”. The Rás is clearly a big target for this team lead by Dave Coulson, Director and team manager at Cycling Sheffield.

• James Hawkins



EvoPro Racing

The 2022 #EVOBRO line up is an eclectic mix of experience and youth, calling on talents from home soil to California, USA. With a packed roster for 2022 EvoPro Racing’s is aiming to have its best season to date competing at UCI Continental level and lists some of Ireland’s rising stars to compete at the sharp end of every race they start.

Under the guidance of the highly experienced ex- pro and Sports Director, Morgan Fox, himself well versed in racing the Rás. This team is sure to be in the thick of the action as it unfolds.

Commenting on EvoPros participation in the 2022 Rás, Cáirde Rás Tailteann indicated "it is great to see this group of Irish riders evolving and we look forward to some solid performances during the race from them. No doubt they will be ones to watch considering their experience and results at home and abroad these last few seasons, definitely a team that will be chasing stage and overall honours"

The Route


The 67th edition of the race will again travel clockwise around Ireland with stage finishes in Horse and Jockey, Castleisland, Lisdoonvarna, Kilbeggan, before starting the final stage in Kinnegad to the finishing circuit in seaside town of Blackrock, Co. Louth. Riders will cover 756km with 8 categorised climbs which will act as a platform for attacking riders to battle it out for the coveted Rás yellow jersey.
