Niamh O'Gorman, Head of Development and Education at Triathlon Ireland, said: “We have collaborated with the Cycling Ireland coaching department a number of times over the last 6 years to support each other on programmes and coach development including two successful coaching conferences in 2016 and 2017 so we are delighted to be partnering with Cycling Ireland again to deliver the Level Up coaching conference this year.

“This year's conference will bring coaches together to not only engage in discussions around skill acquisition but to share ideas and practices with peers from another sport. This is a great opportunity for Triathlon coaches and we look forward to welcoming them on the 11th of March.”

Tom Causer, Coach Education Manager, said: “We have four excellent speakers lined up from a range of different backgrounds to share their knowledge on how coaches can help participants develop skills effectively across the disciplines of cycling and triathlon. We believe that some of the skill acquisition theories and concepts covered by the speakers could provide a different perspective and approaches for many coaches.”

“In the afternoon, coaches will get a chance to apply their new knowledge in a supportive and safe environment with peers. The fundamental role of a coach is the participants learning and improved performance, and we really feel that we have experts in skill acquisition from both the academic and applied coaching worlds.”
