Cycling Ireland welcomes the news that the Government of Ireland is progressing with the easing of restrictions. Cycling and all sports play a central role in the recovery, contributing to improved physical and mental wellbeing.

From May 10:

Training Activities (Clubs, Groups, and Individuals)

“Outdoor training for adults in pods of a maximum of 15 people.” Underage non-contact outdoor training in pods of 15 returned on April 26th.

Outdoor cycling facilities including tracks, trails, and BMX tracks can now open to adults as well as U18s. Indoor facilities e.g. “changing rooms, showers, kitchens, meeting rooms must remain closed apart from essential toilets.”

All those attending a club training session or activity must be registered using the Cycling Ireland Registration / Contact Tracing system.

Groups exceeding 15 people should not gather at coffee stops or around training sessions. Social distancing should be maintained at all times to stop the spread of Covid 19 and demonstrate an awareness to the community of the risks associated with the virus."

Travel

“You can travel between counties in Ireland.”

From June 07 (subject to the public health situation at the time)

Events

The Government announced that “outdoor sports matches can recommence. No Spectators are permitted.”

Cycling Ireland is planning for the return of cycling events and sportives from June 7th. Clarification regarding the maximum number of participants allowed to take part is being sought. The information will be relayed as soon as it becomes available.

Important Information
