Aqua Blue Sport to Sponsor Monthly Recognition Awards

Cycling Ireland are delighted to announce that Aqua Blue Sport will be the official sponsors of the recently launched monthly awards. For 2018, Cycling Ireland restructured the popular Member Awards to include monthly recognition in the following categories; Female Rider, Male Rider and Volunteer.
Ireland’s professional cycling team Aqua Blue Sport has been at the heart of Irish racing for the last year, with Corkman Rick Delaney leading Ireland to international recognition with his UCI Pro-Continental team.
Aqua Blue Sport is also an innovative online marketplace bringing the world’s best bike stores and brands together under one unique digital platform, www.aquabluesport.com. This marketplace is also the funding model for the team which is the stepping stone in allowing it to become the world’s first self-sustained pro squad.
Rick Delaney, team Aqua Blue Sport owner said, “There is a lot of incredible talent coming through the ranks in Ireland. We, at Aqua Blue Sport, are very excited to be able to work with Cycling Ireland in recognising and awarding this talent.”
Cycling Ireland Communications Officer Heather Boyle said, “The Aqua Blue Sport Team are paving the way for our up and coming riders, competing at the top level of the sport. Having them on board as sponsors recognising the achievements of riders at the amateur level, and of our brilliant volunteers is very fitting and welcome.”

Monthly Awards
This year Cycling Ireland has introduced new monthly awards to recognise the achievements and commitment of Irish cyclists. Every month awards will be announced to recognise the following categories; female cyclist of the month, male cyclist of the month and volunteer of the month.
The winners of each of these categories every month will form a shortlist for the Annual Awards next November.
