1920 Worldwide Appointed by Cycling Ireland For Commercial Review And Development Of New Primary Partner Opportunity
1920 Worldwide, a commercial innovation agency focusing on sport, has been appointed by Cycling Ireland to undertake a review of their commercial activities with the aim of identifying a new primary partner that will focus on creating new opportunities for the cyclists of Ireland. The agency will also explore new revenue opportunities for the national governing body.
Cycling Ireland is the national governing body for all cycling disciplines on the island of Ireland. Boasting more than 26,000 members in 2022, 450 clubs and 1,200 events across 14 disciplines, cycling has become one of the most popular, and accessible sports. The Irish Sports Monitor identifies cycling as one of the top three most popular participation sports and an increasingly popular means of transport with 11% of the population communing by bike once a week or more.
Cycling Ireland’s newly appointed CEO, James Quilligan recognises the enormous potential for the sport:
“It is an exciting time for Cycling Ireland with a number of positive initiatives and developments on the horizon. Plans for the construction of Ireland’s first indoor velodrome on the Sport Ireland Campus are continuing at pace, we are looking forward to welcoming the return of the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup to Dublin and our elite athletes are excelling on the World stage.”
“From a participation and grassroots perspective, the number of people cycling is booming and we are starting to see the positive impact of significant investment in safe and segregated cycling infrastructure. Cycling is part of the solution to so many of the challenges facing society today, in particular physical and mental health and the environment.”
