NATIONAL TEAM IRELAND SELECTIONS UNVEILED

Olympic team manager Martin O’Loughlin today announced details of the national teams which will line out in international events over the next two months. The first event is the Zellik Galmaarden in Belgium this Sunday. Paul Griffin, David McCann, David O’Loughlin, Rory Wyley, Brian Kenneally and John O’Shea will line out in the Hibernian Team Ireland colours for the 1.5 ranked race. Michel Bogaerts will act as manager.

Next up is the Shay Elliot memorial on April 25th. Richie Cahill, Micheal Concannon, Mark Cassidy and Conor Murphy have been selected for the 1.5 event, with Tony Cambell acting as manager. On May first Tim Cassidy, Philip Deignan, Paídi O’Brien, Nicolas Roche, Andrew McQuaid and John O’Shea will compete in the under 23 Liege-Bastogne-Liege, under the guidance of Kurt Bogaerts.

O’Loughlin also unveiled the Thorntons Recycling Team Ireland squad for next month’s FBD Milk Rás. David McCann, David O’Loughlin, Tommy Evans, Denis Lynch and Eugene Moriarty are the selection for the 2.5 ranked Tour. Frank Campbell (manager), Dolores Usher (soigneur) and John Keegan (mechanic) will support the quintet in their bid to land the overall honours.
