Philip Lavery showed good off-season form in the Ras an Turcaí on Sunday, soloing to victory ahead of Dylan Rafter (Orwell Dundrum TC).

The second year senior initially went clear with Rafter’s team-mate Stephen McNally and Vinnie Kelly (Carrick Wheelers), and these were later joined by more riders.

However Lavery was too strong and pressed on alone, winning comfortably ahead of Rafter. Kelly was third, with Mick Reddan (Dublin Wheelers) and Sean Kelly (An Post Grant Thornton Sean Kelly team) taking fourth and fifth.
