Leading Dublin bike retailer continues long association with event

One of the most enduring partnerships in the history of Rás na mBan continues this year with the news that Joe Daly Cycles in Dundrum, Dublin will present the digital timing for the 15th edition of the event.

A speedy and accurate results service is a key deliverable for Ireland’s international stage cycle race for women where as many as 100 riders can pass the finish line within seconds.

Assembling and presenting the data are Daan and Martijn Brand who have made the trip from the Netherlands for several years to support Irish women’s cycling and, in association with Joe Daly Cycles, will provide the electronic ‘chip’ timing which records the riders’ bikes crossing the finish line.

In announcing the extension to the multi-year collaboration, Louise Keane of Joe Daly Cycles said: “Rás na mBan is the top bike race in Ireland and for us in Joe Daly Cycles it’s a privilege to continue to support an event which represents the pinnacle of Irish sport.

“The race represents everything we strive to achieve in servicing the needs of the Irish cyclist and we wish the riders and organisers the very best when they head to the start line on the 8th September. We’ll be watching and cheering from the side lines.”
