Entry for Rás na mBan 2019 opens today as teams and riders from across the globe confirm their plans to race in the 14th edition of Ireland’s premier women’s cycling event next September.

Wicklow 200 Queen of the Mountains jersey holder Nikki Juniper (TC Racing) leads eventual overall race winner Coralie Demay (Team Bretagne) on Mount Leinster during Rás na mBan 2018.

For a fourth successive year, Rás na mBan is based in the beautiful medieval city of Kilkenny in Ireland’s Ancient East.

Teams from all over the world have signalled their intention to pitch for success in the five-day, six-stage event won in fine style last year by Coralie Demay of Team Bretagne last year.

As in 2018, the entry process for teams and riders has been streamlined using the Eventbrite online entry system.

Team managers can add their specific team name to the system after which they, or team riders, can add up to five riders to the roster.

Team officials are asked to ensure that they use the same team name for each rider added to the squad and avoid team duplication.

Closing date for team entry is 14th August while rider names can be changed after entry and before the final rider confirmation date on September 2nd.

The event is not open to individuals. It is for teams of five riders representing teams or clubs registered with national associations affiliated to the UCI, national teams, regional squads and composite teams.

The 2018 running of Ireland’s premier women’s bike race was the biggest yet with 25 teams and 119 riders representing 21 nations on the start line in Kilkenny last September.

Full details for entering Rás na mBan can be accessed here:-

Full route details will be announced in the coming weeks.
