ST PATRICK'S DAY RACE - A1 & A2 Race Pictures

Some pictures from the event taken by Peter Purfield

First group off was the A2 bunch

The race would do 2 laps of the Dorey's Forge circuit and finish back in Dunboyne


Two and a half minutes later the A1 scratch group


The leading A2 group on lap 1


The A1 group is 2'28" behind they are not gaining on the front group

The leading A2 group on lap 2



The A1 chasers at 2'32" - now they are losing time

The leaders on the home straight about 13K to go

The chasing A1 group is starting the gain time now - the gap now at 1'30"



The leaders with 10K to go - they are not going to be caught

8K to go

6K to go

150M to the finish

75M to go


Brian Ahern (Orwell Wheelers ) is going to win this sprint with ease


At only 28 seconds behind Craig Sweetman (Stamullen RC) leads home the A1 group, he gets the fastest rider prize
