The race start in Bray


The speed is high at the Glen of the Downs even into a headwind

At Ashford the first substantial breakaway gets away

The bunch is not far behind

Leaving Rathnew there has been some changes, Philip Lavery and Junior rider Ryan Mullen are out front being chased by this group of five riders

At Glenealy a group of five is out front - Adam Armstrong, Ryan Mullen, Philip Lavery, Damien Shaw and Timmy O'Regan

The chasing bunch is 44 seconds behind

On the drag at Rathdrum - O'Regan looses contact with the leaders

Brian Ahearn leads the bunch now at 1 minute 14 seconds down


Time for some refreshments for Lavery

The bunch are holding the gap at 1' 16"

The leaders are all working well - they are like four locomotives

Brian Ahearn is keeping the pressure in the bunch but the gap is opening and is now at 1'36"

Ryan Mullen takes a drink

The bunch is now at 1' 48"

The bunch never gets sight of the break even on the long straights

The bunch is now at 2 minutes and 2 seconds
