The first of two pages of pictures from the event taken by Peter Purfield

The A2 group is first off for the 72k straight out and back race

The A1 group starts one minute behind

The A2's 3km after the start

The leaders at Milltownpass

The scratch are sill one minute down

The leading A2 group can be seen on the long straights

After 30 minutes of racing the gap is still 1 minute

Heading up the drag just outside Tyrrellspass

A few riders attack for the prime at the top

The A1 scratch group

The group has turned at Kilbeggan and are all together as they head straight back

With a tailwind to the finish a few riders are attacking off the front

A five man breakaway has established
