Some pictures from the event taken by Peter Purfield

The start of the Elite Mens Championships in Douce Woods, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow.

The race will complete 5 laps of a testing course

At the end of lap one Robin Seymour has already opened a commanding lead

Ryan Sherlock is in 2nd position

Joe McCall in 3rd slot

Peter Buggle following in 4th position

Seymour starting his 2nd lap

Richie Felle in 5th position

Seymour is out on his own at the end of lap 2

The battle is hotting up for the second slot, Sherlock is followed closely by McCall

And Buggle is only 25 seconds further back

Finishing lap three, Seymour is just coasting along - hes a class on his own

Sherlock still holds 2nd

McCall close behind in third

And Buggle's not far off in fourth

Seymour crosses the line for one lap to go

Now a surprise Buggle has caught up with Sherlock with one lap remaining

Douce Mountain - What a backdrop

39 year old Robin Seymour comes home to win his 16th title, an incredible achievement.

Ryan Sherlock takes a comfortable 2nd place

And Peter Buggle takes the 3rd slot

Results: ELITE MEN - 5 Laps
1 Robin Seymour (5) Team WORC 02:01:23
2 Ryan Sherlock (3) MTB Assoc of Dublin 02:06:19
3 Peter Buggle (12) Rocky Mountain 02:08:05
4 Joseph McCall (1) Focus MTB 02:11:54
5 Richard Felle (10) Thinkbike.ie 02:16:33
6 Philip Roche (4) Team WORC 02:28:40

Apology: Our earlier result indicated that Robin Seymour had won 17 titles, it should have read 16 as he did not compete in the event last year. The 2009 championships was won by Conor McConvey.
