2012 IRISH CYCLO CROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS - Race Pictures

Some pictures from the event taken by Peter Purfield

On the startline the two favourites Roger Aiken (Banbridge CC) and Robin Seymour (Team WORC)

The race starts for nine laps of a technical course in St Annes park, Dublin.

Matt Adair (Banbridge CC) is fastest along the starting straight

Into the single track and Adair goes clear

Roger Aiken leads the chasers

On the 2nd lap Robin Seymour is now in the lead

Roger Aiken in second

With Matt Adair close behind in third

Seymour looks comfortable at the halfway point

Aiken in 2nd at 20 secs back

Adair in 3rd place 50 secs back

Evan Ryan (Team WORC) in 4th at 1'20"

There's a good battle for 5th between Daragh Mortimer (EPIC) and Anthony Doyle (U/A) just 2 mins down


Two laps to go





Seymour shows the stress as he gets the bell for one lap to go


With one to go, Aiken is @ 1'18" and Adair is @ 2'16"

Mortimer has been dropped by Doyle and is not giving up

At the finish a triumphant Seymour is overjoyed to take this title at 40 years of age
