Here are pictures I took in the 1970's, Some pictures from the 1976 Jack Wookcock Race in Phoenix Park, Various pictures from the Tour of Ireland and a couple of others from around that time.

My apologies as these pictures are a bit mixed, please don't contact me looking for pictures, I will post more pictures here when I get some spare time. Even converting the pictures on this page took a fair amount of time.

Please enjoy the pictures that are already posted on the site.

John Short (IRL) overall winner of the 1978 TOI

This was the summer of 1976, fantastic weather. I was cycle touring in Kerry with the the Les Jeunes Cycling Club we managed to meet up with the Tour of Ireland in Kerry the followed it back to Limerick and Mullingar. Here is a picture I found of Tony Lally (IRL) beating a Spanard to the line for the stage finish into Mullingar. I think Pat McQuaid went on to win the overall that year.

Various other pictures

This is on the climb to Snowtown (near Naul) Peter Doyle (Bray), Peter Morton (Pernod) and Sean Lally (Obelisk)

The guy in the yellow cap is Stephen Roche (Orwell)
