Dry roads and a hint of sunshine helped make the youth racing on the Dromantine Circuit very exciting.

In the Novice race Odhran Doogan from Errigal C.C in Donegal led from the whistle with Jordan Chambers from the Newry club chasing hard in 2nd spot, while Ewan Ruddle,East Tyrone did just enough to hold off local lads Kaelin Campbell and Caoimhin McCann.

U-12. A great race over 3 laps with the split going on the 2nd lap when Dean Chambers and P.J Doogan broke clear. This duo raced like pros on the last lap with Dean getting the sprint from the impressive Donegal lad.

Sam Cantley from West Down Wheelers who only recently started racing took 3rd. The race for 4th and 5th was a great battle between Jolene Francis from Longford and Newry girl Alannah O'Grady with Jolene just showing a bit of extra experience in the race for the line.

U-14. Cathal Clarke took his first win of the season in front of a delighted home crowd. This was a great race with several of the big names getting away in a break on the 4th lap. Clann Eireann rider Declan Mulholland led the sprint out a bit early with Pierse Atchison storming through with 100m to go but Cathal Clarke showed his sprinting skills with a superb finish to pip the Harps rider. James Mulligan also from Newry Wheelers was 3rd with Ryan Orr in 4th spot.

U-16. This race was superb with great attacking riding from early on in the 10 laps of a 2.5 mile circuit. The big split went on the 7th lap when Foyle star Matthew Doyle piled on the pressure along with North Pole rider Aaron McBride on Dromantine hill and 7 riders went clear. However a clash of wheels resulted in local lad Declan Reid who was riding with great form and confidence coming down. Several U-15 riders were riding strong with Harry McComb, Craig Crawford and Blaine Cole all doing well. In the uphill sprint finish Matthew Doyle was just too strong taking the win with Danny Bruton, Stamullan in second and Aidan Wall from Navan taking third spot.
