With time ticking down to the Olympic cross-country MTB race on August 23rd, Robin Seymour got a boost to his confidence yesterday when he won a round of the Canadian Cup in Quebec.

The Wicklow rider punctured and suffered a mechanical problem in last weekend’s World Cup race in Bromont, retiring from the event.

He had been training in Canada prior to the race and decided to use the opportunity to take part in another race prior to flying to Beijing on Wednesday. The win is a plus to his morale in advance of that journey.
