PAULINE SUGRUE AUCTIONEER
RAS MUMHAN 4 DAY INTERNATIONAL CYCLE RACE
MARCH 21st/ 22nd/23rd/24th 2008 ....Easter Weekend
Good Friday to Easter Monday
This years Ras Mumhan 4 Day Cycle race is already to roll on Good Friday, with the announcement of a new overall race sponsor, PAULINE SUGRUE AUTIONEER &PROPERTY SALES WATERVILLE.
Our new main sponsor, who came on board last year, is based in South Kerry, and 2 of the 4 stages will be in the area.
There are 4 road stages and there is no Time Trial this year. Mindful of how early Easter
Are the stage distances will not be over 135km (84 mls).
Stage 1.Earl of Desmond Stage. Friday 21st March .4pm. 70 km (43.7mls) . Starts and finishes in Killorglin taking in the Killarney . Farranfore, Farmers Bridge (Tralee), Slieve Mish, Castlemaine route which was used 2 years ago.
Stage 2. Pauline Sugrue Auctioneer Atlantic Route Stage. Sat. 22nd March. 12 noon. 133.4km(83.4mls). The first day in South Kerry starts & finishes in Cahirsiveen taking in Valentia Island and much of last years stage in the area, which was a spectacular success.
Stage 3.Pauline Sugrue Auctioneer South Kerry Climbs Stage. Sun. 23rd March 12 noon 100k. (62.5mls) This is a new stage from Waterville back to Waterville with the famous Ballaghbeama and Ballaghasheen climbs , made famous an many a Ras Tailteann en route.
This will evoke great memories in Irish Cycling circles and will command huge interest on Easter Sunday.
Stage 4.Western Union Stage. Mon. 23rd March.10am 101k.(63mls) This stage is the traditional finish to the race, 3 laps of the Beaufort �Killorglin circuit , and on to the Donal McKenna circuit for 5 laps and the grand finale.
Stages 2 & 3 will carry 5 HOT SPOTS each day worth �100 each.

*There will be a strong International field facing the Starter.
A strong Dutch team will join the Surrey team to take on the best of the Irish. The new an Post Sean Kelly professional squad will lead the Irish challenge.
The Under 23 National team, as well as a National development squad and the Pezula Pro team will also be in the lineout. All the top domestic teams , Dan Morrissey Carrick Wheelers, My Home.ie will be there to defend Brian Kenneally� s title, Limerick Road club , the West Clare team , the Comeragh team from Waterford, the Stamullen squad from Co. Meath and a host of others will be in action .
The Kerry challenge will be led by last years runner up Paul Griffin in the Giant Asia pro colours, The Earl of Desmond team with Tom O Flaherty Brendan Lacey & Nial Brosnan, Sean Lacey who rides in the South Dublin colours this year , local men Micheal Concannon & Daniel Clifford , Denis Dunworth, Eugene Moriarty (my Home.ie), a previous winner of the race and Killarney�s Michael Lucey
