DUNDRUM SC ORWELL WHEELERS DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL CYCLING SCHOOL

Saturday 17th of September was the final session for 2005 of the of the Dundrum SC Orwell Wheelers Dublin City Council cycling school.

The first season of the cycling school has been an outstanding success with over 100 young cyclists participating in the programme. They have learned how to have fun on the bike, safe cycling, cycling in groups and competitive strategies. The participant's skills and fitness have improved enormously,

We have also had riders selected to ride for leinster by the Track commission in interprovincial track competitions and they represented leinster and Dundrum Orwell wheelers well. Congratulations to Ciara and Darragh Long.

COACHING TEAM:
Programmes like this are only possible with excellent coaching support. We have had great support from a very dedicated and talented group of coaches Michelle Crinion , Aiden Hammond, Eddie Lynch, Damien Long and David Mc Loughlin have done incredible coaching work in helping me with planning, organizing and practical coaching right through the season. We have also has good parental support throughout the programme.

The school has also received excellent Support from Dublin City Councils Aaron Callaghan, David O'Donovan Dublin City Council sports officer and Lara Mc Ginley who substituted for David when he was on a break during the summer.

THE FUTURE:
We are now on a break and are beginning the planning process for next season and the seasons ahead. I believe that we are only scratching the surface in regard to the massive long-term potential of the school. We will be taking new members for next season and potential members parents should contact Paddy Doran 085 1451790 or Aiden Hammond 087 9641167

If you want the very best coaching in the country, join the Dundrum Orwell Wheelers Dublin City Council Cycling School.
