Trim Castle the backdrop for the start of the 2010 An Post Meath Heritage Cycle Tour

Mary Murphy (Meath County Council Local Sports Co-Ordinator) briefs local Meath man and cycling legend Philip Cassidy who will drop the flag to start the event

And they are away to do the 2 main events 160K & 100

What a sight, cyclists for as far as you can see

After a while the cyclists settle into groups of their own pace

On this tour there are loads of junctions, all of them were very well sign posted and marshalled.

Decision time - will I do 100K or 160K

Race around Ireland winner Joe Barr was out the front on his own for the whole 160K tour, he was probably using this a a training run.

At the 110K point this was the first group on the road, there were only five individual riders in front of these

Apart from the serious cycling runs, there was a 40K and 10K family tours
