Blarney Cycling Club’s Annual Memorial Sportive was eventually run yesterday Sun 7th Feb, after being cancelled twice due to the bad weather, the club was delighted by the huge turnout. The weather held and it was great to see people participating in exercise young and old.

The event brought cyclist from all over the country and the club was honoured to have the newly elected President of Cycling Ireland Rory Wyley participate, even thou he kept the pace very high for everyone else.

Anthony Collins & Brian Osborne (Club Chairman) made a presentation to the newly elected President of Cycling Ireland Rory Wyley

Pace now picks up as Michael Fitzgerald does his turn at the front

With 5km to go the main group has dwindled down quickly due to the fast pace and tough headwind on the Ballincollig bypass

And then there were 4! Blarney Rider Edward Barry, Michael Fitzgerald, Rory Wyley & Timmy Barry are first to finish
