Some pictures from the event taken by Peter Purfield

Over half way through the first stage and 4 riders have about 30 sec lead

The main bunch

The bunch dropping through Tinahely

The leaders have about 40 secs gap on the bunch

As the leaders go up the only climb on stage one, they are caught and passed by a rider from the Isle of Man

Tim Kennaugh from the Isle of Man powers up the climb

The bunch is closing on the remaining four leaders

After a fast descent, the race caught the 4 riders and 3 new riders clipped away to catch the lone leader with about 20k to go

Now a new breakaway with 3 Isle of Man riders and Gerard Madden

The bunch

He's away again

Tim Kennaugh of the Isle of Man leads on his own with 8km to go

The chasing 3 are going to be picked up by the bunch

He is opening the gap

The bunch with 4km to go
