The FBD Rás, the Martin Donnelly Junior Tour and the Tour of Ireland supported by Failte Ireland have been dispatched to the history books for this season, but the final piece in the jig saw is to unfold in Sneem Co. Kerry starting tomorrow.
The Ladies Commission for cycling have taken an usual step by moving out of Leinster their three day stage event to Munster.
Rás na mBan is the flag ship of the ladies calendar and they feel that it is an opportunity to spread the event around the country.
Fortunately they found a sponsor who was 110% behind the venture and has put all the facilities of a top class hotel behind the promotion.

Step forward Louis Moriarty of the Sneem Hotel, Golden Coves, "I have had a lot of enjoyment out of the sport and when approached by the Ladies Commission earlier this year to get involved with the event. It is a great opportunity to have a race in Sneem and I am looking forward to next week," said Louis.
Particularly this season the ladies racing has grown with the number of events. They had a number of leagues running throughout the season and a lot of new faces are in the sport.
The general anticipation is that there will be sixty plus competitors in the three day four stage event.
A number of teams from England, Germany and Holland will certainly add spice to the race formerly known as the TQ Ladies 2 Day event.
The Irish contingent are looking forward to the international competition as it is widely anticipated that an Irish ladies team will be participating in the world championships in Varese later in the month.
At least this olive branch from the cycling authorities will ease the pain of not even being considered for funding for a number of top class competitors courtesy of the Irish Sports Council.
