European Track Championships
The European Junior and U23 Track Championships are taking place from Sept 3-7th in Poland.
The following cyclists have been selected:

The above riders will compete in the following events.

Cycling Ireland Membership Awards Scheme
Introduction: The membership award scheme is aimed at giving Cycling Ireland members an opportunity to recognize the contributions and performances over the past year by the many volunteers, clubs and members. There are several different categories which you can vote on and the final winners will be announced at this year’s AGM. Voting is simple and the process is outlined below. An initial voting period will be allowed to gather nominations which will then be published on our website with final voting deciding the winners in each category.
Voting Process and Rules
Voting can be done by email or post to the following addresses:

Voting is restricted to current 2008 Cycling Ireland members.
Each Submission must include the following:
• Your Name
• Club
• Licence Number
• Date of Birth
Initial voting period runs from September 3rd to Oct 10th. The votes will then be compiled and a series of final nominations will be published on our website on Oct 17th for final voting up till Nov 14th. Each member is entitled to vote twice, once to help compile initial nominations and then a second time when final nominations are announced. The final winners will be announced at our AGM on November 22nd. It is not necessary to vote on all the different classifications below.
Award Classifications
1. Best domestic competitive stage race or one day event
2. Best domestic Leisure/Touring event
3. Most valuable volunteer contribution in your region (Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster) (Members should vote for 1 person in their region)
4. Best newcomer to the sport in any category
5. Best cycling photo of the year
6. Best Irish performance abroad (any category or discipline)
7. Best club of the year
8. Best domestic based male rider (Juniors, Seniors, Vets)
9. Best domestic based female rider (Juniors, Seniors, Vets)
Below is some guidance when deciding on the above categories.
• Best domestic competitive event: Safety of event, facilities provided to participants, course in use, and distribution of prizes on offer as well as general atmosphere on the day.
• Best domestic leisure or Touring event: Safety of event, facilities provided to participants, choice of routes and value for money.
• Most valuable volunteer contribution: Consideration should be given for people who are providing their time in the area of developing and supporting the current sporting structures and events within cycling in Ireland.
• Best newcomer to the sport in any category: New riders in your club or region who have recently taken up the sport and have progressed well
• Best cycling photo of the year: If you have a photo that you’d like to submit, send it and the best ones will be compiled on our website for our members to vote on with the list of other nominations. A maximum of 3 photo submission per person will be allowed and they must own the copyright of each of the photographs.
• Best Irish performance abroad (any category or discipline): Performances overseas by Irish competitors which have exceeded expectations.
• Best club of the year: Consideration should take into account, events held by the club, rider participation in the region, community interaction, Youth development and maybe how nice their club gear is!
• Best domestic based male rider (Juniors, Seniors, Vets): Consideration should take into account, rider participation, results achieved and support to local club/region
• Best domestic based female rider (Juniors, Seniors, Vets): Consideration should take into account, rider participation, results achieved and support to local club/region
