Following on from the success of the Live Updates featured previously on IrishCycling.com, we are delighted to announce that the same coverage will be provided for this year’s Tour of Ireland. An Post has agreed to back the Updates from the race, and so we will bring you the same blow-by-blow reporting this week.
Coverage will begin from the drop of the flag this Wednesday and continue for the duration of the five day, 2.1-ranked contest.
Readers will be able to follow the action from their home or office, keeping up to speed with what is happening during each stage.
Live! Updates proved to be hugely popular when they were first introduced in May 2004, with readers from home and abroad tuning in each day. Updates were posted regularly from the moment the action started, informing site viewers of all the developments from that point until the finish. This proved hugely successful with daily figures peaking at 3,900 people/262,000 hits. The readership has grown considerably since then and, with the large overseas entry in the race, we expect a very high level of interest in the coverage.
