Irish junior Philip Lavery is continuing to ride strongly in Belgium, the Tempo BMV rider taking two wins over the weekend. On Saturday he was best of the 75-man field in the Ronde Waubach, going clear of the peloton early on to join up with a dangerous breakaway, then leaving this move with three laps remaining and finishing alone. He took all of the primes in the race.

He then soloed to victory in the Ronde Balen road race today. “The race was ninety kilometres long and I went clear with two laps to go, winning on my won by 40 seconds. I finished ahead of guys from the Acrog.net – Quick Step club. Tom Boonen was with that squad when he was a junior.”
Lavery is delighted with his form. “I felt really strong, and am very happy to win,” he stated. “Next up is the Tour of Antwerp, which starts on Thursday.”
