BRENDAN CARROLL MEMORIAL RACE - STAMULLEN

Stephen O'Sullivan (Dunboyne CC) capitalised on his recent good run of form when he won the Brendan Carroll Memorial in Stamullen last night.
O'Sullivan was part of a four man breakaway, containing Urban Monks (Eurocycles), Stephen Halpin (Swords McNally Joinery) and Robert Moore of the promoting Stamullen M.Donnelly club which went clear midway through the 50kms race.
Despite numerous attempts to go clear on the final lap, the race was settled in a sprint, easily won by O'Sullivan, with Halpin beating Monks and B national champion Moore for second.
Craig Sweetman (Sramullen M Donnelly) led in the chasers, for fifth with Ciaran Cassidy (Eurocycles) sixth.
