Philip Deignan finished in the main bunch on today’s seventh stage of the Tour of Switzerland, crossing the line in Lyss two seconds behind the solo victor Fabian Cancellara (Team CSC). The Irish rider placed 59th.
Kim Kirchen (Team High Road) continues to lead overall. Deignan is 47th overall heading into tomorrow’s 25 kilometre mountain time trial. He has said that he will go flat out there to gauge his form against the other riders.
The Letterkenny rider is also fifth in the intermediate sprints classification.
